Monday during Skapa hour, Inga and the class will begin coding!
Our class will have a twitter account that follows our mascot @daisydala each day and her adventures. You can also checkout the school hashtag #nceseagles
I will have a survey for parents to fill out at Back To School night. If you would like to fill it out before then, here is the link

(Swedish for Welcome to our class!) Dear 3rd Grader: I am so excited to welcome you to what I hope will be one of your very best years at NCES. I have spent a lot of time this summer thinking about your classroom and what you would like it to be like. Third graders are brave and adventurous. They take risks, are creative, and never let a challenge get them down. They encourage others, learn from their mistake, and lead by example. Together we can work to make this one of the greatest third grades on the planet! I hope you spent some time over break on a new book adventure (or two). I know I have! I have filled the library with great new stories for us to read! I can not wait to get started! We will again this year be having our “Back to School” night on August 18th at 5:00pm. Stop by to explore your room and bring your supplies so you can lighten your load on our first day together. For one of your projects the first week, you will need a cereal box (any size). Please bring it then! When you see our room, you will notice that there will NOT be 21 desks in our class. Are you wondering how you are going to work if there are no desks?? DON’T WORRY! There will be plenty of places. We have a living room with couch and chairs, we have two different large tables, four desks, and LOTS of floor space! We will use different areas of our room for different activities we do. You will each have your own special space for your materials such as pencil boxes, binders, and folders. I have so many awesome activities planned that will promote collaboration (teamwork), and problem-solving. You are going to learn a ton! I hope you're ready to be actively engaged in some great lessons! Your classroom is ready, and plans are in place. In short, I’M READY!! Continue to check our website mrsbuethe.weebly.com for updates. I recently added a video to take you on a class tour. If you or your family have any questions, you can reach me through email at [email protected] or by calling Kim’s office and leaving a message! Sincerely, Mrs. Buethe You can now have a quick tour of the classroom!
Inga went digging in the Crater of Diamonds State Park just days after a 8.52 carat gem was found! What was the biggest diamond found in the United States called? Comment here!
We will be working with BIG numbers this year! On your Colorado postcard, find the difference between the tallest, and shortest peaks. The first five to comment the answer here will have VIP seating the first week of school!!
Inga is learning all about coding! Coding is what makes it possible for us to create apps and websites. This website was made with code! Coding is quickly becoming an invaluable 21st-century skill. When we code, we are developing skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking. Inga can't wait to see what we create! If you go to her facebook page, you can see an animation she created of a Yeti dancing!
